Clementine

Clementine is having a very bad week. First it starts with cutting off Margaret's hair and then it goes down hill from there! Margaret's mother gets so mad at the girls, that they are no longer allowed to play together. And Margaret's mother is overheard saying that there are easy children and hard children in every family, and that Clementine just happens to be that hard child.

So, feeling hurt, Clementine is sulking when she hears her parents now talking about "one is enough" and finds herself sad that they were talking about her. Later, she even finds her mother talking on the phone stating, "The cake has to be chocolate with white frosting with the words Goodbye and Good Riddance .... Clementine".

A side story is that her dad is fighting the great Pigeon War (it is where he sprays the Pigeon's because they leave "you-know-what" on their apartment) and Clementine finds out a way to stop the great Pigeon War.

Does Clementine get all of her facts mixed up? Did she overhear her parents correctly? What is this cake about? What was the statement "one is enough" all about? How did she stop The Great Pigeon War? Read Clementine by Sara Pennypacker to find out.

I give this book 10 bananas.
